Volrend is a volume rendering package for the CM5. It features a virtual trackball to allow the rendered object to be rotated, moved and zoomed in space, facilites to control the contrast and brightness of the image and the ability to write the image out as a TIFF file.
The application is written as a set of TCL commands [1], written in C++, which are bound into an application by means of a script volrend written in TCL. The reader is assumed to have a knowledge of the TCL programming language, either from the aforementioned book, or from the online manual pages.
